/ About the project
Nestled in the heart of Palo Alto, this custom home transformation reflects a seamless blend of modern luxury and architectural sophistication. Designed and built by Greenberg Construction in collaboration with the VRchitects team, the residence captures the essence of livable elegance—balancing high-impact design with functional performance.
Every detail, from layout to lighting, was curated to create fluid transitions between interior and exterior spaces, while the material palette was chosen to feel both timeless and grounded. This project exemplifies our commitment to creating homes that are visually inspiring yet warm and deeply personal.
Design + Structural Innovation
• Vaulted Volume & Natural Light
The main living area features dramatic vaulted ceilings with gold-finished exposed beams, offering a bold yet refined gesture overhead. Integrated skylights and expansive sliding glass doors fill the space with sunlight and create a direct connection to the landscaped backyard.
• Showpiece Kitchen
At the heart of the home lies a chef-worthy kitchen anchored by dual-tone custom cabinetry, a waterfall stone island, and a full-height marble slab backsplash. Professional-grade Wolf appliances and a custom pot filler elevate the utility while reinforcing the design language.
• Indoor-Outdoor Flow
The rear façade opens completely to the yard through full-height glass doors, turning the living space into an airy pavilion ideal for entertaining or quiet retreat. Exterior finishes and landscaping were thoughtfully aligned to maintain privacy while inviting light and air deep into the home.
Interior Design Approach
• Refined Material Palette
Wide-plank oak floors run throughout, complemented by minimalist base trim, concealed lighting elements, and a calming palette of whites, woods, and metallic accents. Each space feels curated without being overworked.
• Statement Powder Room
The powder room offers a bold counterpoint with its dark patterned wallpaper, featuring abstract architectural references. A floating vanity with integrated lighting and sleek hardware brings warmth and polish to this unexpected moment.
• Functional Elegance
Bathrooms and utility areas carry the same design principles forward—custom vanities, illuminated mirrors, designer fixtures, and functional layouts that maximize space without sacrificing beauty.
